Martha gellhorn

Caroline Moorehead

About Martha Gellhorn: American novelist, travel writer and journalist, considered to be one of the greatest war correspondents of the 20th century. The Gellhorn spent most of 1940 writing a short story collection, The Heart of Another. Hemingway’s For Whom the Bell Tolls came out in October; it was a best-seller. Hemingway’s divorce from Pauline Pfeiffer became final in November; he and Martha Gellhorn married on November 21.
